Learn data science @ CHOP!

Start with our DART materials!

DART was a sixteen week long study in which biomedical researchers from around the world were given curricula that match their needs and learn data science techniques. DART is no longer recruiting participants, but you can read more about the program on our website or fill out our interest form.

Importantly, all of our materials are available publicly for your learning needs, even if you didn’t enroll in the full sixteen week study. So if you have one hour, one day, or one month to dedicate to learning, we think there will be something for you in our educational modules.

Or, start with Quick Start Guides

It can be difficult to know where to start with data science! Luckily, you are not alone. Many members of the CHOP community are on a data science learning journey. The key is helping you start where you are right now.

We’ve assembled Quick Start Guides for a number of common technologies and starting points. If you’re new to data science, we recommend you start here:

If you would like to get started with a specific language or tool, here are some more guides for you:

Get connected

You’ll notice that in all of our resources we emphasize finding user groups or reaching out to people. That’s because the most successful data science learners form relationships with other learners. The simplest way to do this is by showing up in a community group or attending an event.
