In our first meeting of 2021, we’re going to cover Python notebooks (Colab and Jupyter) and how to ingest data into notebooks. A few notes:
- If you plan to use Colab notebooks, please make sure you’ve already signed up for CHOP’s Google Drive access, or be prepared to work off-network so that you have access to your personal Google Drive. Want to learn more about signing up for CHOP’s Google Drive? If you have access to a Research cost center, you can follow these directions: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xrBRue_qg11HeNs2AbuK5zeXxAvH-xv2/view?usp=sharing
- If you plan to use Jupyter, my suggestion is to install the Anaconda distribution – you can do this on your own if you are an admin of your computer, or request help from IS to accomplish this. Here is the link to installing the Anaconda distribution (free): https://www.anaconda.com/products/individual
You’re welcome to just come and watch, but you’ll get more out of the session if you’re ready to dive in, hands-on!
This session is fine for brand-new beginners, but you might want to watch some or all of “Demystifying Python” to understand a bit more about Python for data analysis: https://education.arcus.chop.edu/modules/python-demyst/
